作者兼主唱达利尔创作了此歌，并邀请福音曲演唱组合“黑暗之声”（Sounds of blackness）协助录制。由于作品缺乏对足球运动的共鸣，很快淹没在人们的记忆之中。

达利尔-豪是美国70和80年代知名组合“豪与奥兹双人组”（Hall and Oates）的成员之一。他1946年10月11日出生，原名Daryl Franklin Hohl。

来自费城的达利尔在坦普尔大学结识了后来的伙伴约翰-奥兹（John Oates）。他们几经分合，最后在汤米-莫托拉（Tommy Mottola，后来也是玛莉亚凯莉的经理人）的运作下，签约亚特兰大唱片公司。
